PARISH PROUD: New Leash on Life Program

Program benefits youth at OJJS, dogs at Animal Shelter

Post Date:02/20/2020

The "Parish Proud" video series highlights Calcasieu Parish Police Jury employees making a difference in the community, while living the Police Jury's mission, vision and values.

This edition features employees Nicole Dumas (Animal Services) and Kevin Thomas (Office of Juvenile Justice Services), who are both involved in the New Leash on Life Program. The program gives teens at OJJS the responsibility of training shelter dogs, which ultimately helps the dogs find forever homes and teaches the teens responsibility and compassion.
